ND Service

Whats thoughts here dealer or independent servicing , dealer charges look high for what in effect is an oil change ???

They are, is the car in warranty? There’s some argument to say if it is to maintain the dealer stamp even though independents can also maintain the service history and it shouldn’t affect the warranty.

The only reason I use the dealer for the first 3 years is because a service contract was included as part of the purchase.

If you’re loyal to the dealer network, should you have an issue outside of the manufacturers warranty there maybe some goodwill offered from Mazda.

It is worth trying different dealers and always politely ask for their best price. Then say something like ‘wow that sounds a little bit dear what does it include?’
Some 2nd year prices include the brake fluid change and some don’t. If this is a DIY job then you can save there.
Watch out for ‘engine flush’, ‘air con refresh’ etc. these addons can inflate the price and dealer profits. My advice is if they try addons don’t use them.
Independents like Rodders do offer excellent service with addons like gear box and diff oil changes that ARE worth considering.
