iv just fitted braces to my NC and i can tell you that, YES they Absolutly make a difference!
in my opinion braces are worth every single penny.
they stiffen the body up and calm down the ride, they make the car feel more confident. they make it so the suspention only has to deal with the road and not the body flex.
the car lays down the power more evenly and has improved performance and pick up off the line.
I fitted the Carbing strut brace, there were few around in 2017. Does have the advantage of having the brake stopper built-in.
Does it really need one? It’s not a Fiat.
A friend tried leaving my house one day in his brand new ‘Fiat 125 Special’ company car and the clutch had stopped working. It turned out the bracket inside the engine compartment holding the clutch pedal etc had pulled its spot welds out of the bulkhead. We drilled several holes in the bracket instead of the spots, added bolts and nuts and big penny washers.
Problem solved.
I forget if the brakes were on the same loose piece. Scary.
Yes there is a small amount of movement.
