Yes they do as i have the IL Motorsport ones
Many thanks, did you notice any rigidity improvements with the IL brace?
Yes as they are a lot more rigid
That’s it then, I’m going with the IL brace as I’m sure it’ll cost no more than the OEM equivalent.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread!
Hi, I can understand you saying bolts are tight. I am 74 & I still do my own servicing on my nd1. I now use a strong arm bar on tight nuts, amazing how much easier nuts give in. They aren’t expensive & make everything so easy especially if like me car is on props sorry forgot the name of the bl**dy things. Also if it were me I would take a piccy of the offending pot hole & put a claim in. Before people get up in arms, at the end of the day we pay a lot of money to drive on ■■■■ roads so I would defo claim!
Thanks Shuffle foot, I’ll search out one of those thingies (are they called breaker bars?)
There wasn’t a pot hole, just a puddle which was right across both lanes of the B road (deeper on my side).
I agree with claiming for pot hole damage though, the state of the British roads varies from shoddy to damn right dangerous.
Hi yes they are called breaker bars, very useful I use mine a lot. By the way if you replace the parts are you getting the braces from mx 5 parts because I am toying with the idea. Oh by the way the things I couldn’t remember “ axle stands “. Another great piece of kit that I would be lost without. Hope you get it sorted. The reason I am toying with the idea is that it looks like a weak spot you weren’t driving fast so it seems to me it’s worth doing. Luckily you weren’t far from home so I suppose it could have been a lot worse. Hope you get back on the road quickly.
