Need help finding out what size the rear brake piston is!

Hello!

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 2002 NB MK 2.5, 1.6
  2. I’m based near: Romania, Bucharest
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Rear brake caliper piston dimension

My rear calipers have started leaking at the handbrake linkage and I want to rebuild them the following week. My local parts store is selling kits that are made for 32mm and for 35mm (piston I believe) and I’m not sure which one is the correct size. Is there any way to check the dimension without removing the caliper (and piston) before ordering the parts kit?
TIA!

If you can measure the brake disc diameter ILMotorsports list them accordingly.

As you have the 1.6, you’ll have the 251mm rear disc, so I think the smaller piston.

Thanks! I’ll take the wheels off tomorrow and I will check the disc diameter, just to be sure.

Exactly this, the Sport 1.8 cars had 35mm rear pistons in the calipers, the 1.6 and normal 1.8 cars had 32mm
