Mines an nc1 and revs to 7500 before it hits the rev limiter.
As well as the crank - Mazda chose to change the style of piston too.
The facelift engines have floating wrist pins in the pistons rather than the heat fitted ones in the earlier motors.
They also have more oil drain holes behind the oil control ring to ensure less oil can get to the compression rings ( and passed them )
It arrived! Only had time for a quick spin and conditions sub optimal but what a blast! All kinds of exited and nervous and really looking forward to getting to know this little fella. Thanks for all the advises.
