Been looking at forum for a while so thought i’d sign up and join in. Got a 1991 eunos v-spec in BRG, the cars slightly modified… mx5 parts de cat, larini cat back system, HKS induction kit, rays engineering alloys, koni adjustables all round, green stuff pads on standard discs and a roll over bar but still lots to do. Any advice on what performance plugs and leads are best would be gratefully recived as i’m planning to use it on the track in the new year and would like it running just right.
I don’t track my car, but it is supercharged. I use standard mazda leads and NGK BKR7E-11 plugs. Magnacore leads used to be the flavour of the month, but some guys had a few issues with them. HTH-------
Cheers for the advice Geoff, gonna go with the NGK plugs but the 6E as mine’s N/A, what issues have magnacore leads caused? bet you get more top down use in queensland, spent a year out there a few years back, wish i didn’t have to come back, too much rain here!
Welcome to the club Stewart, plenty of info and helpful people kicking about who can answer any questions that you have.
It looks like you’ve tried to put line breaks in your first post, but they’ve not worked - Some people’s accounts have not had the correct “content editor” set by default Click Here then “Site Options” and change the content editor to “standard” or “enhanced”.
If it still does not work, then it is probably browser compatability issues - Internet Explorer 7 seems to give the best results, with Firefox a bit behind, and Safari in the starting gate, facing backwards (It’ll hopefully get sorted soon though).
Hi Stewart
Welcome to Kent, It sounds like you are getting good advice already using the forum, look forward to meeting you at one of the South East events.
Good luck with the modifications and I look forward to seeing them at some stage.
Have a good Christmas
Cheers
Sarah (Mazda Chick)
The problems were a while back and ISTR that the caps popped off, and the number 1 lead was too short. This may well have been fixed now. Re Queensland. I’ve just done a 2 day trip to the guy who has a dyno and an understanding of Megasquirt ECUs. It was so hot over the lunch time period that we had to put the hood up!!! It’s quite good actually, with both side windows down and the back unzipped. I wish [only during Dec an Jan] that I had aircon===
Cheers for the friendly hello’s, Sarah I’m planning on attending a south east meet in the new year as i’m only 20mins down the road from paddock wood, so hopefully meet you in the new year.
Gonna go with the magnecor 8mm leads Geoff so will let you know if I have any trouble with them.
Have changed my settings some hopefully this works now.
