25 years after first attempting to buy an MX-5 (was shooed away by the salesman, who thought I couldn’t afford it), we finally own one.

It’s a 2001 NB, bought from the original owner who is a friend of ours and had just received an ND RF as 70th birthday present!

I’m a fairly traditional car nut, so I’ve been wondering what are the best books for home maintenance of the NB. Serious jobs I’ll entrust to a garage, but it helps to be able to tackle the small things when they occur.

In all honesty no book is going to give you all the information you need. Car forums are often more informative if you are prepared to search for the info and read through opinion to sort the wheat from the chaff.Service and repair manuals are available at mellens.net and the US forum miata.net have a section devoted to the mk2 and split into useful sections. Plenty of video tutorials on youtube regarding various tasks. Good luck with the car.
