Owned my MK1 1.8i 1995 for approximately 3.5 years.
Completely standard bar the radio and door guides.
Never ending list of jobs to tackle, truly is a love/hate relationship.
List of jobs completed under my ownership:
- water pump
- Timing belt
- Service *2
- Disc and pads all round
- Rear caliper refurbs
- suspension bushes (rear only)
- Wheel bearing (rear only)
- Radio
- Power steering lines
- New catalytic converter
- Boot and petrol cap cables/lever
- Rocker cover gasket
- Toyo tyres all round.
- Rear CV joint
- welding rear chassis rails and front left inner arch.

The trouble is once you finish the jobs that need doing you then start on the ones that don’t but you just want to do them anyway or at least that’s what I did

Absolutely! I was only going to tinker and polish a few things. On the flip side at least I know what I have and what I feel needs doing.
The welding just felt like a right of passage
