Hi everyone

I’ve been on the forums for a while, but I’ve just joined the OC properly (stickers et al…) and have been assigned to this area, so I’d like to introduce myself.

I got my 5 in December, had some brief fun before being rear-ended in February, but the car is now fully-repaired and shiny again, and with the weather turning I’m really looking forward to attending meets and meeting you all.

I live in Edgware (North West London) and I work in Teddington (South West London), so I think ‘West London’ is a very appropriate place for me!

What/when is the next event?

All the best

Simon

Hello, and welcome! I’m not sure I’m the most appropriate person to ride the welcome wagon, given that I’ve had a '5 for less time than you and I’ve not actually managed to make it to any West London meetings yet, but I don’t care. I’m going to welcome you anyway!

To the best of my knowledge, the next events are:

4th April: Easter Charity Run

5th April: Beaulieu rally and limited edition photoshoot

6th April: West London group monthly meeting, just North of Kingston.

I’m going to be at the Easter run, and I’m going to do my best to make the monthly meeting, but I’m not sure about the Beaulieu rally yet - I feel it’s a bit far for what it is.

See you around!

Thanks for the helpful welcome!

I’m busy on the fourth, and the fifth is for special eds and I’m working anyway - but the 6th I can definitely do, as I work in Teddington which is very close to Kingston, so should be easy-peasy. Where do you guys publish the details of this? I get the impression that the forum is not the locus of contact?

Cheers

 Hello!

Just look for posts from sparkleyberkleybob (admin for west london) or take a regular look in the west london section (http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/forums/180.aspx).

Also look in the downloads tab at the top of this page to find area newsletters. and make sure in your “my account section” (top of page again) in “member details” check your local area is set to west london, if not edit it and then you will get newsletters with STHT etc

Bob is currently recuperating so may not be on here as much as normal, but give it a couple of weeks and he will be back!

With regard to the fifth april, it is not really just for special editions any more, it got so large we opened it up to all.

 Hi Simon & welcome [:D]

You are indeed on my ‘patch’ although you’re also not too far from Oxford, Chilterns & North Thames areas too.  You’re welcome to join in with any areas’ events as well as the national and multi-area ones - so keep an eye on the club website, forum, STHT magazine and my newsletters for details of what’s going on.  My next newsletter and STHT magazine will be winging its way from the printers on Monday, so look out for it.  And as Harco pointed out (cheers for stepping in in my absence [Y]) newsletters for all areas are available in the ‘Downloads’ section on the forum.

On the forum I tend to put events that our area is organising in the ‘area events’ section, while monthly meetings and general chat I put in the ‘West London’ area.

We’re a friendly welcoming bunch, so why not pop along to the next monthly pub gathering on 6th April and say ‘hello’?

Bob
