Oh, its not about attraction for stubby antenna, for me 
as reviews and research endorse the stock antenna gives better reception.
It’s because I need to cover my car with a material cover, and all the car covers available needs a hole made in the cover for the stock antenna to poke through, thus rendering the cover not water proof, especially at the site of the hole, whereas with the stubby antenna, there’s no need to make a hole in cover.
Initially I was seeking a grommet to go over the site after I unscrew the stock antenna, but the idea of having to disconnect and reconnect each time is just impractical.
Must admit, I had never thought of that one. You live and learn.
Looks lovely and a great choice on interior colour - I’ve got black but much prefer this.
