New owner in kent :)

 Hi everyone![:D]

Ive been lurking behind the scenes on the forum for a while now but I now have one so thought i’d say hi!

I had been looking for one for my girlfriend to use for the daily drive to work and after a month or so of looking at a few that were mostly rubbish we saw a j-spec silver on a J plate, 1.6 with 75k miles on the clock- went and had a look & a drive, then put a deposit down[H] This is it;

Overall im pleased with the car- its in good condition, very good engine and no rust anywhere, just needs a good tidy up on some of the body such as the boot lid edge and there is a split in the rear screen. Over the next few weeks I will get to sorting all of the bits that need attention as well as giving the car a full fluid swap & service and a larger brake conversion with DBA discs as the 1.6 brakes are awful![:O]

Im new on the MX-5 scene but not to the jap car scene, I work in the trade and In my family we have 2 mkiv Supra turbos (one heavily modded with a big single turbo), My GTO (very heavily modded, front end conversion, big single), soon a GT4 as well as the mazda! There is loads I would love to do to the mx, but i have to keep reminding myself that its for my girlfriend to drive to work in, not for me to mod and have fun in![:$]

Me and a friend hold a Jap meet down at Brands Hatch on the second thursday of every month, all you guys are welcome, i saw a few 5’s down there last night and it would be great to meet up with you guys soon- i had my hands full so couldnt get round to finding you[::(]

 G’day mate, welcome to the Forum

The Mk1 brakes are pretty good for normal road use, but probably not what you are used to with your GTO

greetings pete

Get that top down and have serious Mark 1 fun!
