New problem found 1989 MX-5 (Help Needed)

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 1989
  2. I’m based near: Luton
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Advice on what to expect or do next

So I if you haven’t known it is in my previous post.

So I decided to change the oil now and run it for 500miles and change it again instead of a flush.

So I used an 10w40 Castrol Magnatec semi synthetic oil and bosh filter at the moment. In the previous post I mentioned I did say it used to run on 5w40 by the previous owner.

And I did mention the squealing sound and suspected it to be from the alternator belt. So i bought the part to replace it, and so on

Never ever a 5min job remains a 5min job.

So I loosened everything and no matter how hard I tried it didn’t loosen it now could I remove the belt.

Whoever was in there before botched up the work with some shady work.

And the reason was it’s not even the OEM alternator

And the A** Hat didn’t even bother put to put a pivot bolt in and secure the alternator

It was running on hopes and prayers.

So now I need a new alternator and a pivot bolt

So my question to everyone is

Should I replace the whole alternator or it a commonly used as a swap to the MX-5 if so should I run a bigger alternator belt

All insights are welcome , thank you everyone for those valuable time.
