No Comparison

Having just returned from sunny climes and missed the snow!!! whilst abroad me and the wife desided to hire a car for the day to look around the island as you do.

The only criterea I insisted upon was the car must be a convertable (bit sad I know), we got a great price on a Tigra for the day and had a nice drive round with the top down even in the slight rain (well it was warm rain). But it did make me realise how good the 5 is tho drive as the Tigra is like a sluggish shoping trolley, which corners badly and drives even worse.

Hire companies abroad would make a killing if they hired out MX 5’s

The problem though with MX5s as holiday hire cars is the limited luggage capacity.

PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ME THONG AND SUN CREAM !!!SCARY THOUGHT

Next time insist on something that is fun to drive, rather than a convertable…

Yeah, after last time I got a hire car (Renault Modus) I’m going to be a bit more careful! Going to Ireland for work in a month or so, so when I book the car, I think I’ll specify “Not a Renault”. Vauxhall, VW, Mazda all OK. Peugeot, I think I’d probably lump in with Renault, but I’ve not driven many so I can’t really comment. Apparently newer Fords are actually OK, so maybe one of those…
I guess I could stretch to allow Aston, Maserati, Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus…
