oil drain plug

Hi ,

Can any tell me the size of the thread and pitch of the oil drain plug on  the mk3  1.8 engine.

I would like to fit a magnetic one.

Are you sure that a magnetic one isn’t fitted?

Don’t know any better, just assumed that it didn’t.

 Was looking to buy one ready for the next oil change .

I think it would be very unusual if it wasn’t a magnetic one.

The factory drain plug is not magnetic. I don’t know the size off the top of my head but I can find out. I’ll post back as soon as I know unless someone else does first. It’s the same plug as an NB (the 17mm one) if that’s any help.
