Old but new!

Hi everyone!

Thought id join up after having the car off the road for a couple of years and finally getting it sorted. I’m new to the forum but have had my NB8C for about 11 years ish. Done loads of bits to it recently and super happy to have it back on the road!

Welcome to the forum. Nice looking motor - enjoy.

Welcome Mark. Cracking looking car. Apart from the body kit and typhoon induction kit what have you done to her?

Yeh I get what you’re saying about the Typhoon. Although if the engine bay temp is kept reasonably low they‘re alright. Got a Trackdog heatshield and I’ve directed some ducting straight to the filter. Works ok for me.

Totally read that wrong

Great looking car BUT…

I’m more impressed with how neat and tidy the garage is !

I’ve got a double garage that my missus is intent on filling with bulk buy wine, washing detergent, kitchen rolls, wipes for every surface you can think of (plus some you don’t want to think about), a freezer, paint tins with nothing in, her Mazda 6 etc. My MX5 sits outside (okay, I have a Suzuki in there and a small stock of cider) but it’s a nightmare to stop her using every nook and cranny.

Haha this made me laugh!

We made a deal before we moved in. She gets the spare room as her “dresser/clothes dumping ground” and I get the garage!

The tumble drier in there is the only thing remotely domestic

“Tumble dryer” translates as “Rust Generator” simply because no tumble dryer can function without some leakage of hot damp air into its surroundings - none are perfect.

Compromise and instead have a freezer in the garage, at least it will help warm the place to reduce the humidity.

We have an excellent AEG heat-pump dryer which is so much better in all ways than the old condenser dryer, but the metal fittings in the Ikea cupboards in the laundry still rotted until I added an extractor fan at the top of the room and fresh air vent within the units to keep the humidity down.
