one headlight bulb out

HELP

i have a 1990 uk mk1 and the passanger side headlight just refuses to give me anything. when its on all i get is a really weak orange glo of the filiment after a bit of revving i get some light but then it dies off again, i have tried 3 bulbs now to to rule out bad bulbs.

anyone??

 Does it kill the bulb?

no bulb still give an orange glow as if power is going to it but not enough??

Check the state of the contacts in the connector on the back of the bulb, these are often dirty/worn/knackered on an early car----------------

thank! i will check that 2moro,can new blocks be put on? expensive/easy?

Swap the units over and see if it still does it, should only take a few minutes to test…

My reckoning is on a bad earth

It could be the wiring loom where it comes out of the pop up body, It gets repeatedly flexed there by the raising and lowering of the light, So the strands within the wires may be breaking up.
