Anyone got experience using one of the apps on their phone to pay for fuel? I’m going to try the BP one but not great reviews online but as I’ve not been near a filling station since March this looks to be a safer way to buy fuel as now getting low? Thanks, for any feedback.
I enjoy looking at the stickers saying:
SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE!
and
PAY WITH YOUR MOBILE!
next to each other at petrol pumps.

I use the shell app and have had very little problem with it.
Open the app while sitting in your car, select the pump, select your payment method and limit. Leave phone in the car and fill up. Once full just drive away, you’ll receive an email receipt in due course and it keeps track of your fuel transactions. No interpersonal skills required. I always use it now, queuing to pay seems like an anachronism!

done it, worked, a success, I can recommend it but to the guy who pulled in behind me and could not wait the 20 seconds it took me to pick the pump number and amount on my phone before I got out and managed to hoot at me twice and shout you can go and do one… thanks… 
patience is a virtue, and I was in and out way quicker overall than going into the kiosk…
