I don’t get any notification of PM’s.
With the old forum I’d get an Email and a pop up when I was on the forum.
I’ve had a look and can’t see how to get notification can someone tell me how to do it.

You should get an email
There are a few things to check;
1.

"Email" tab; The first option, and I think the third one need to be selected

At the bottom; “Send email” -> “When new posts are posted in this forum”
At this stage, you will probably get emails for every post made on the site, to turn that off:

Set the “subscribe” column to no on each forum (or just the ones you don’t want)

You now get a new section on the main forum page when you have unread PMs
