Can anyone recommend a head unit to fit Mk3 nc 2007 with a decent sat nav, radio and media player fitment. I purchased an A SURE unit which is totally useless and going back, sat nav only shows American and no British, in fact no maps at all!
Plenty out there, usually you will be looking for one with a 7" screen to fit the dash aperture. Can recommend JVC or Pioneer, have fitted both brands to NC’s. The sat nav on those will usually go through your phone as Carplay or Android Auto depends on phone type, wireless too if you choose the correct head unit.
See Dynamic Sounds online shop or Halfords for your head units and fitting kits, of course many other outlets.
My 2007 non Bose I got this recommendation from dynamic sounds
They will fit it for £360
Wow! 800 quid.
I have the above mentioned pioneer kit & it is very good sounding, stable & versatile etc. I’m thinking I wish I’d got a full android kit though so I could take advantage of much better compatibility with my diagnostic/tuning apps.
Toying with the idea of selling my 2007 1.8 ICON and upgrading to an RF , I have to get out to put the hood up now I’m 66 ![]()
I doubt the addition and extra cost of a satnav in a double din on a NC 1, 2 or 3 is at all worth the effort. With the roof down glare on the screen is ridiculous for anything other than turning the volume up and down. Lucky we have the audio controls on the steering wheel to make good use of. A Garmin or similar suctioned to the windscreen is a better option for me.
This is Purely my thoughts and experience with the Kenwood DDX4019.
I have the opposite opinion to @Sparks. Both the Kenwood DMX8020DABS in my Yaris and the DMX7722DABS in the NB (invariably with the hood down) perform admirably in sunshine and Google Maps is very stable on both using wireless CarPlay. They’re a major upgrade to the TomTom and single DIN radio combination I had before. Both also provide a bonus of accepting a reversing camera with minimal hassle.
