Just to add for more info on your routes, Stately homes and Derbyshire villages.
Whilst going through Chatsworth estate or stopping there take note of Edensor village, it’s a lovely visit if just to see the chalet type houses there, limited parking though.
Carry on through the estate to the excellent Chatsworth garden centre, they do lovely food with a carvery. Park in the garden centre car park (free) or outside on the Calton Lees car park (£3) all day, you can walk from there by the river back up to Chatsworth house.
Caudwells mill craft centre as mention has a vegetarian cafe, they do a very good Derbyshire Homity pie. Cafe can be busy around lunchtime but free parking at the mill.
