I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: _rear subframe brace
Hi folks. Left and right rear subframe braces to be replaced. Does it matter if car should be jacked up off wheels or not? It’s the braces that are about 18’’ long by about 2’’ wide. 3 bolts in tach one.
I reversed my car on to 2 ramps and did them that way, so weight on.
I replaced the original ones with the solid, stainless ones fom MX5Restorer, worked out cheaper and should last longer. Painted them with POR-15 and TopCoat before fitting. I remember the rearmost of the 2 bolts together was difficult to remove, used a breaker bar on these. I fitted new bolts with a bit of copper grease and sprayed the head of them with Dynax UC.
All of the arms in this pic have been replaced now…
