RECALL - Parking Assist Unit Programming

  1. My model of MX-5 is: RF Homura 2024
  2. I’m based near: South East
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Recall for Parking Assist Unit Programming

Anyone else received this recall notice? …

“A fault relating to to the software contained within the parking assist unit may prevent the correct warning notifications and/or the Smart Brake Support (SBS) from working correctly when reversing.”

I have the same model as you and received an email from my dealer saying mine had been recalled for checks.
The email didn’t specify what for, so your post has helped.

That’s cool to know, I am a 1 in 720, yey!

An elite group

It did seem quite a small number to me, with the recall just affecting 2023 & 2024 registered years.

I received a recall notice in the post yesterday too. I already have my car booked on 27 March for the lowering springs, and having called them, my dealer will do the recall work at the same time which is handy. Doesn’t sound a very exciting recall.

I’m also in the South East with an RF ND April 2024 Homura. Fingers crossed I won’t be one of the 720 :crossed_fingers:

TBH I’m more concerned about the SBS or flashing BRAKE!! notification on the small screen when approaching parked cars at not a great speed.

How much are they quoting for fitting the lowering springs, Eilbach I’d guess, if you don’t mind me asking?

Smart Braking when reversing as part of the parking assist was new to the 2024 model I believe. I’ve never actually experienced that safety feature yet(and I don’t plan to!) but I have had the steering shudder and alert sound when a car nose was pulling out too much turning in my right of way.

@Chris_Ab It’s about £500 including the springs, fitting and VAT. I could probably have got it all done more cheaply by buying the springs there and taking them elsewhere to fit, but there can’t be any warranty issues later if I get it all done at Mazda. They did me a small discount for being an owners club member, so do ask for that.

Haven’t received notification, but looks like it applies to 2023 models too at least

Got the recall in the post this morning  . Needs its first service anyway, so will get that done at same time.
