A pressure washer on a low setting and from about 1m away is the recommended method for removing all the ingrained dirt and and detergent / mould remover before commencing any renovation treatment. If you don’t do a thorough job of cleaning any subsequent work will be short lived or ineffective. When we looked at ways of renovating fabric soft tops the method was to use a pressure washer on a pretty high setting from about 1m before applying the renovating resin and baking in a paint oven. This worked quite well but was costly and also affected some of the now quite old interior plastics so any further work was deemed non economic against the cost of a new top.
