Either way I doubt you can go wrong with this so long as it’s not wildly out of spec. If you are still considering Red Line though from personal experience it is fantastic both for the ND and in the NA me and my partner have took on the track! I for one don’t consider it a waste of money.
In which case for the best protection use Millers CRX 75w/140 NT+ which is what I use. Very slick when hot.
I changed my gearbox oil to Millers CRX 75w 90 NT+. Gear change is fine above 10 deg C, but 1st to 2nd gets very notchy much below that for the first few miles. Definitely going for 75w 80 next time.
Mazda really confuse matters by recommending a 75w 90 GL4 as an alternative when their own Long Life Gear Oil IS is actually a 75w 80 (Thanks Richard Flanders the info.).
