Removing Sticky Residue (Post Stripes)

Ta da!

The combo of Sticky Stuff Remover, (LOTS) of white spirit, an old store loyalty card and some elbow grease did the job! I shall by moisturizing my hands for weeks but not she only needs another wash, a T-Cut and a polish…

There is still some more removal work needed though as the glue is less keen to come off the plastic panels as can be seen at the back comparing the boot lid and the bumper.

Thanks to everyone for their ideas and suggestions, much appreciated.

(Serviced the electric windows as well this morning - very productive!)

Glad you got the glue off
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT USE T-CUT on it
The paint is far too soft…You will ruin it!!

Three posts! Point made…

I’m sure the pros will be along in a bit to help, but in the meantime this information may be useful:

Apologies…Computer glitches I would machine polish it with a Medium or a Finishing pad with some Scholl S30 Nothing harsher

Looks like I’ve seen this too late, but for anyone else in the same situation, the best thing to do would be to use Trafalgar Tar and Glue Remover.
It’s what the pro’s use and won’t harm the paintwork anywhere near as much as petrol, white spirit etc…
Always wash the area after you have removed the adhesive.
