HI ANY POSTS ON FITTING A RENAULT LAGUNNA FRONT SPLITTER TO YOUR MX5 IVE READ IT A FEW MONTHS AGO BUT CANT FIND IT NOW ANY PHOTOS OR LINKS THANKS
My linguine splitter fitting thread on the old forum is here
or, here it is in full:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I bought a Laguna
splitter off eBay last week. It was listed as muddy but in very good
condition, however it was deeply scratched so needed some prep work. I
sanded it with wet and dry and I might still fill the deeper gouges
with filler.
Before:

Fitting it was a PITA. I made cuts around the corner parts, but it
still bent and wasn’t a perfect fit (anyone would think it had been
made for a different car!) Plenty of self tappers later and a few
screws repositioned later and this is the result (sorry about the
quality of the pics, the camera was on the wrong setting and I didn’t
realise )
Lots of screws so it follows the contour of the bodywork

A bit bendy on the bottom before the slits were cut on the underside and before the screws were tightened up properly.

Done

I need to cut a little bit more onto one side as I cut it 1/4 inch too short )

I painted it with plastic primer and then satin black spray cans shortly after.
And here is a more recent "arty" shot

Looks good, you just need to lift the bonnet, grab the headlight lids and pull them upwards until they are proud of the bonnet when it is closed, then push them back down again until flush [;)]

Just bought one of these (previously cut to size for the MX5) and am after some advice on how to fit it. Do you just use self tapping screws straight into the bumper or do you drill holes in the bumper and screw into some blocks of wood?
I drilled the bumper and the splitter and then used loads of hefty self tappers through the holes.
Excellent, thanks. Just got to go screw shopping and I have a nice job for the weekend…
Guy’s do you happen to know if the Laguna splitter will fit a Mk2 and if not has anyone else managed to get a splitter from another car to fit.
Beat’s spending mega bucks on one from Mx5 Parts. Thx…
Hi,
I bought a Laguna splitter off e-bay, knowing that it had been cut in half.
This is how it looks when fitted; using the existing bends of the splitter, so there was very little forcing it to fit. The excess material was cut out from the middle, equally off both halves. This method of fitting does bring the air vents inboard a little more.

This splitter is very flexible and has taken several scrapes already without causing any problem. As a testament to how flexible these parts are, the splitter was delivered by post and the postman managed to push it through the letter box without any problem.
Similar story, a few pics of mine in various stages of trimming
