Replacement Cam Cover for NC 3.5

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NC 3.5
  2. I’m based near: Lymington
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Replacement Rocker/Cam Cover

I have a crack in my Cam/Rocker cover and having trouble finding a replacement. Probably prefer OEM an alloy one would be better (and won’t crack). However, I’ve read so many things about the replacement alloy covers where they are not exactly compatible.
Anyone have any experience of sourcing a replacement?

Are 1.8 and 2.0 NC cam covers the same??

1.8s don’t have the vvt solenoid but not sure if it’s just a removal blank , easier to source the correct one I think.

Ooops. Just purchased the only 1.8 on ebay. No 2.0. I’ll work it out.
None on the net, Mazda on back order, no idea when they’ll get one. I’ll clean up this new, second hand cover and see what I have and in the meantime weld it with JB Weld Plastic Bonder to stop it getting worse.

Sorry I don’t know the definitive answer to that.

But would be interested to know the answer if you find out.
