replacing the tyre after a puncture on a MK 3

 I have just acquired a MK 3 and the handbook says that it I get a puncture and use the stuff supplied to get the car going I then need to buy a new tyre - is this really true?

 If your talking about the spray stuff in a can which temporarily inflates the tyre to get you home then yes… sounds about right

Apparently if you buy Holts Tyreweld or something like that it can be cleaned out and the tyre repaired (if the damage is not too bad).
