Returning Member in North Dorset/South West Wiltshire Area

Good Morning, I’m Jon, I had a couple of Mk1s a long time ago and decided to return to enjoyable driving. Previously my mk1s had been my daily, I need to move large model steam engines around so having an MX-5 this time round has gone from being a first car to a second car exercise.

I found this lovely Mk1 in Sussex but apparently it lived more recently in Andover, not far from where I grew up. If anyone recognises it I would love to hear from you. It had a few mods which I’ve set back to standard; I’m more interested in having a well looked after, largely standard car these days, It comes with getting old! Only modification to note is the Hand Controls I use as I am an amputee. It’s a manual, but my left leg is still there so the clutch isn’t a problem.

Biggest shock to the system was how expensive MX5s have got. This one cost me 2.5x the price of my first one. I guess that’s what happens when the secret gets out.

Anyway, if you recognise the car, let me know. With my previous MX5s (H29 GNF and J826RTA) I used to hang around with the Moonrakers in Wiltshire.

Welcome along Jon. That’s a lovely looking car. I’m not too far away in Weymouth, so I shall look out for you on my travels in my ND. Have fun!

I used to meet with the Moonrakers as well. I’ve moved away now but I know there’s new members in Wiltshire trying to get meets going again.

I’d love to know more about people in the area who want to get meets going again. I used to enjoy the little bimble out.

This is a previous topic for meeting up in Wilts/ Western/ Moonrakers.
