I dont know if you noticed there is a ride out planned for tomorrow meeting on A59 meeting at 10.30 and leaving for Windermere leaving at 11.00
does anyone from Leigh area want to meet up before getting to A59 meeting at Huntleys
Cumbria and Lakeland Motor Museum Run
Sunday Aug 13th
Run hosts Dave & Sue Hankinson
The run will start at Huntley’s Country Store, Samlesbury, PR5 0UN where we will meet for 10:30am and a 11am start, please park at rear of Huntleys.
The run will pass initially though Clitheroe then onto the countryside, over the hills through Waddington, Slaidburn and Kirby Lonsdale picking up the A590 onto the lakes, approx 65 miles.
Please be aware there is no planned comfort/toilet stop en-route.
The Lakeland Motor Museum at Ulverston houses plenty of exhibits and has something for everyone including a replica of the ill-fated Bluebird.
Sue will make entry vouchers and will issue these at the start point (this has been arranged with the management to assist staff on entry)
On arrival to the museum, we have arranged for the paddock car park to be opened for us, it is on the right, through wooden gates, just before the bus stop.
Admission to museum, Club discounted price £6.80 each
Should anyone not wish to enter the museum, there is a café on site and outside seating overlooking the river………..in the sunshine in which Dave has pre-booked!
A short drive of 2.5miles from the museum to Rusland Pool Hotel for the planned afternoon meal, approx time 2.30-3pm where we will be dining in the reserved function room.
The function room has its own bar so no need to queue up in hotel bar.
Having eaten here once before we can highly recommend the hotel. It is only 2.5 mls away from the museum and the menu is very reasonable and varied.
Major plus is that they do NOT require pre-ordered meals so you have freedom of choice on the day!
