Roadster Rear Plate - What's the perfect size?

Hi,

I want to get a nice pressed metal rear plate but think the size is a bit of an oddity. Does anyone know the right size to perfectly fit?

Currently I have a sqaure plate fitted by the Dealers, this has been butchered top and bottom with a carving knife/axe/jigsaw/gnawed by a goat/or something similar!!

I see german/french style plates on craigsplates. Has anybody seen anything similar like a jap plate anywhere?

Rear plate size = 375 x 165 mm

Keep in mind that they are not legal…

In old money they are 13" x 6.5"

They are legal, using motorcycle size letters.

The legality of pressed metal plates is questionable at best - from what I can tell there is only one company that claims to meet the required standards, and even then their wording hasn’t totally convinced me - just make sure you do your research though.

Pressed metal plates are not legal on an MX5. They are for vehicles only with a plate pre “k” [1971]

I ordered a eunos-size acrylic plate from craigsplates. £22.49 posted.

Still illegal ‘show use’ plate, but what can I do?!!
