The final format for the Tours at our Spring Rally
have been settled.The Flyer for this Tour is available in the Download Area of the
Website [ see links at the top of this page]. There will also be a detailed route itinerary for this self
navigated Tour, available to download from the end of March. I have tried
to give as many different options with the 5 x Tours to enable Members to plan
their weekend according to their journey time/ accommodation location and
whether you are coming to the Hoppers Supper on the Saturday evening.

TOUR E
HEART OF KENT TOUR to DUNGENESS
via ROMNEY MARSH.
Please note :
For
logistical reasons, all runs on 21 May at the Spring Rally weekend except
Tour A, are self Navigated. Further information and a map outlining the
route are below. Detailed, easy to
follow route directions will be available to download from the Download area of
the Club Website for this Tour by the end of March 2011.
Description of this Tour.
The Heart
of Kent Tour E is intended for those Members who have probably not booked to come to the Hoppers
Supper at the Hop Farm on the evening and want to spend a leisurely day driving
and exploring our area. This run is just over 100 miles long and will take
about 6 hours to complete, longer if you detour to explore or have a leisurely
lunch.
There are
a detailed set of driving instructions and information on the route, which can
be downloaded from the main Club website, so please consider starting the Tour
at Yalding, to avoid traffic congestion at the Hop Farm. However, copies of the
route details for this Tour will be available to collect at the Hop Farm on Sat
21 May from 0900hrs to 1230hrs so you can then make your own way at your own
pace, using the suggested itinerary for this mainly driving day out in our
Region.
The
suggested route includes a scenic drive through the Heart of Kent, visiting
many picturesque villages en route via the historic Town of Tenterden before driving on to the coast via
Romney Marsh to Dungeness for some wild and windswept sea-scape scenery. Several different options for lunch in the
Dungeness area, which are listed in the route details.
Return to
the Hop Farm or your overnight accommodation or consider spending some time in
the Cinque Port Town of Rye and explore this medieval and historic Town, if
time permits.
The Rally
