Saturday Run and Lunch
Location: Corrs Corner
When: 20/08/2016 11:00
We are planning a short run this Saturday 20th August.
Apologies for the late notice but I have put this run together at short notice, following discussion at our event last Wednesday evening.
This run is a bit different from some of the other Saturday runs, in that it starts a bit later, is not as long and doesn’t take up all of your Saturday. This will give you a chance to either have a bit of a lie in, or get the grass cut before you leave.
We plan to meet at Corrs corner at 11am with a view to setting off around 11:15 sharp.
The plan is to head across country avoiding most of the main towns and arrive at Logans at Cloughmills for Lunch. After lunch the Ladies and indeed the men if they so wish can “flex the plastic” in some of the shops around the Logans complex.
Following this we will head across Joey Dunlop territory towards Armoy, first stopping off at the little Chuch in Garryduff of Joey’s final resting place.
From Armoy we will head across towards the Antrim coast and homeward back to Belfast.
I am still putting together the final details of the run and these will be given out on the day.
Also in the pipeline is an evening run and a Sunday run. Details of these will be posted shortly.
Steven & Peter.
The weather forecast doesn’t look great for part of tomorrow but we intend to go ahead (roofs up as necessary)anyway as most of what we will be doing will be indoors. The plan is to have lunch around 12:30 at Logans.
This run has developed into a bit of a “Joey Dunlop memorial” themed run and we plan to stop off at Joey’s grave, the Dunlop memorial garden and Joey’s Bar on the way back towards Ballyclare. Across then near Armoy to Cusendall, Waterfoot and Carnlough, stopping off for afternoon tea in the Londonderry arms in Carnlough around 3:30 - 4pm. Continue along the coast to Ballygalley, leave the coast to by-pass Larne to arrive at Millbrook roundabout and home towards Belfast etc.
See you at Corrs Corner at 11am.
