Saying goodbye to MX5 tomorrow.

After less than 18 months my five has been sold and is being collected tomorrow.

I could do with something a bit more practical and have had a couple of near misses in it recently and as it is my daily driver it is a bit unnerving doing 180 spins in it when you don’t mean to.

It is going to a good home as my dad is buying it, he currently has a MK1 Vspec that i am now going to try and sell on for him.

Will be taking delivery of a nice 57 plate VW Jetta 2.0 TDi Sport next week. Not as much fun as the 5 but a nice car all the same and i could still go for a blast in the 5 if my dad lets me.

Thanks to all the people who have helped and advised on here during my ownership.

 Guy a work with has a Jetta… was really impressed with it… (nice interior) - I would take it over a Golf or Bora most days.

Hi, I know how you feel as I’ve recently had to do the same for the same reasons - at least you know where yours is heading and you can keep an eye on it. Mine is on a used car lot with no-one to look after it and as yet, no-one who wants it! Best of luck, I will return to the fold, I’m sure you will as well.

Its sad when they have to go, but sooo many people come back.  Nothing compares with a 5 in the end… [Y]

Well its gone. My Dad collected it this morning and left me with his Mk1 V-spec that i am selling on his behalf.

The 5 is and always will be one of the prettiest and one of the best driving cars ever IMHO.

Perhaps one day i will return to mx5 ownership. Who knows, really looking forward to getting my Jetta next week with a re-map to follow hopefully.
