Seeking Advice for NA Wheel Arch Rust

Hi all,

I am new to the site and MX5s in general. I am based in Liverpool and have been looking for a place to get rust repairs done. I’ve read a few posts, but most of the body shops mentioned are either closed or too far away.

I’ve discovered some significant rust on my MX-5 NA’s inner wheel arches, and I’m quite worried about it spreading.

Has anyone successfully tackled this issue themselves if the rust only to skin? Alternatively, can anyone highly recommend a trusted mx-5 bodywork specialist in Chester/ Liverpool/ Manchester area who understands these classic cars?

I’m realy hoping i can take good care of it- after repair, what are the best rust-proofing products (e.g., waxoyl, Dinitrol) and methods for UK weather conditions?

What you will find when you start peeling back the onion so to speak is rust a lot worse than anticipated.

I cant recommend someone in your area sorry but as you say its best to get it done properly.

Bilt Hamber and Dinitrol both make great products, I use BH personally but its a toss of a coin really as to which is best.
