- My model of MX-5 is: NC 2008
- I’m based in : Formby
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Bleeding of Brakes
After replacing the rear brake pads, my father-in-law advised me to bleed the brakes; however, it got me thinking that should I have to do this if I haven’t disconnected the lines from the calipers? I have extracted excess oil from the tank as it was approaching the max line.
I never do after a pad/disc change, worth doing if it’s old fluid though.
Thanks Mick,
I’ve just come across this guide which doesn’t mention bleeding them either.
Just top up the the oil. I do have new oil coming today so I might replace.
update, the oil is fine, it’s still quite clear. I did test it to check for water and other things, the probe showed less than <1%
If you bleed the brakes, don’t forget doing the clutch as well, same reservoir!
