Slight leak when very wet or washing car

Hi,

I have a MK3 MX-5 2006 model.

I am getting a bit of water leak where the rubber in the top middle of the drivers side and passenger side windows close. This seems to be where the two rubbers meet and one tucks inside the other, as I drive it drips, more so on the drivers side than the passenger side. is this common, is it a blockage, is there something I can do to help reduce it.

I understand that a softop always has weak points etc - btu it just seems daft to me that the join is in the middle of the door frame?

Regards

James

A bit of silicone spray (NOT WD40) helped mine - seems to prevent water ingress ok.
Someone on here had a mod of putting something inside the rubbers to re-form them. Can’t recall who it was though.

I think it was -halli-      See the Tyne tees tech day.

Ooh, Tyne tees tech day sounds good - but it’s 3 hours each way for me - no good! darn it.

The hood of my 1994 MX-5 started leaking recently when it was raining.  I thought I would have to replace the tension cables (sounds like a bi#$h of a job to do).  Saw a thread on another site about tightening tension of hood locking clips.  I undid the plastic covers on both locking clips and turned the locking nut to tension the hood.  Success no more leaks.
