On my mk1 the webbing straps fixed to the parcel shelf have snapped and i cant see how they attach to the frame. Also what purpose do the elastic straps have and can you get replacements for them. A picture of someones soft top interior would be great.
Sounds like you have a MKII roof on your car, does it have a glass rear screen? If so, the straps pop rivet to the rear most roof bow rail at the top and bolt to the inner most studs of the 2 outer roof retaining rails behind the rear deck carpet.
The purpose of them is to hold the rear bow rail back and support the weight of the rear screen. I’m not sure what you mean about the elastic straps.
