Hi Everyone,
A few members have asked about the route and starting point for the Drive to FONFA on the 12th April.
The proposed route has been produced, with the start point being: Rownhams Services M27 Westbound, SO16 8AP at 09:30 onwards, ready for a departure at 10:25 prompt.
However, I have passed the route to Kim and Dave (our hosts at FONFA) to review, as they know a better more scenic drive route for us, as they know the area better than myself 
Once I receive the route back, I will implement any changes and post for all members to see and download/print, as required👍
Finally, please could those members that still need to pay, refer to the Attendees List in Post #1 and pay me soonest, as I need to pass the monies to FONFA in the next few days.

Hi again everyone,
By way of an update, I have been advised that the card machine for members to pay the admission charge of £10/head, is somewhat unreliable, as it relies on a good mobile signal and that is not always gauranteed in that area.
Therefore, members are strongly advised to bring cash with them on the day, to simplify things for FONFA.
The FONFA Scretary usually wants the £10 admission charge up front but has said he will accept cash from us on this occasion, to simplify things.

We are now up to 28 members for this visit. I am just waiting for one payment for the buffet lunch to come in and we will be all set
I have been sent some photos of the Buffet that Kim provisdes at FONFA, for you to persuse below;
REMINDER: IF YOU CAN BRING £10/HEAD CASH WITH YOU ON THE DAY TO PAY FOR THE ADMISSION TO FONFA, WHICH IS A SEPERATE PAYMENT TO THE £7/HEAD PAYMENT FOR THE BUFFET, IT WOULD BE A GREAT HELP TO THE STAFF AT FONFA, AS THE MOBILE SIGNAL FOR CONTACTLESS PAYMENTS IN THE AREA IS SOMEWHAT PATCHY!!!

Hi Everyone,
Please be advised that this event is now closed to any further bookings, as we are up to our maximum numbers, as dictated by the venue!
All monies are now in, so I will pay the venue today and all will be good with the world
Also, the directions have been amended on advice from Kim at FONFA and printed off in Google Maps Format.
The directions will be handed out to all attending at the Rownhams Rendevous Point on the day.
Here’s hoping for a nice sunny day, for some top-down motoring in the New Forest:sun_with_face:

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR FONFA
Please disregard the date quoted in the Solent Area Newletter that went out to everyone. It quotes the date for the FONFA visit as 5th April for some reason but should be 12th April.

Hi Everyone,
I have a confession to make, in that on investigation, the incorrect date for this event that was quoted in the Mailchimp email to you all, covering the April 2025 Solent Area Newsletter, as being the 5th April but should have read 12th April, as per the Solent Area Programme and the forum posts…so I put my hand up to that one and apologise for any confusion 
Moving swiftly on, I had a “Telecon” with Kim earlier this evening and she has clarified the programme of events for this coming Saturday’s FONFA visit, as follows;
a) We will all rendevous at Rownhams Services M27 Westbound at 09:30 onwards, ready for a prompt departure at 10:25, in order to drive down to the FONFA memorial site and arrive at 11:30am where we will meet Edwin, who will give us a talk on the memorial site.
IMPORTANT NOTE 1: At this point, I will collect your £10/head cash for the FONFA admission at this point to save delays once we arrive at the FONFA Heritage Centre.
b) 12:00 prompt, we will depart the Memorial Site and drive the 10 minutes or so to get to the FONFA Heritage Centre at approx 12:15.
c) 12:15 to 12:45 - This time has been allowed for members to use the toilet facitlites at The FONFA Heritage Centre but its a single loo, so this time has been allowed in order to get people through the loo, after the drive down to FONFA!
d) 12:45 - The first group of 13 members will partake in the guided tour and walk around of the FONFA Heritage Centre, whilst the remining 13 members partake in the buffet lunch.
IMPORTANT NOTE 2: Kim has stated that all the Buffet Food will be fresh for both groups, so the second group to do the tour will not get left-overs but their own fresh buffet
e) 13:15 - The second group of 13 members go on their tour of the Heritage Centre, whilst the first group partake in their buffet lunch.
f) There will be some free time after both groups have done their guided tours and had some buffet food, to wander around the Heritage Centre and explore the exhibits more.
g) Once everyone has been fed, watered and seen everything at FONFA, we will depart and head home.
We look forward to seeing all those booked and confirmed for this visit this coming Saturday.
