Hi Mal, hope you’re well?
Paul & I hope to be at this breakfast & drive, it seems ages since we’ve managed to get out to any events in the MX5. Looking forward to seeing you & the group again.
Thanks
Liz
Well, this Breakfast Drive has certainly gathered a lot of interest, as we are now up to 35 people
I have just spoken to one of the Team Leaders at Breakfast Venue and upped our numbers and said we will fit in as best we can and that has kindly been done for us.
So, we have now taken over the whole front area of the restaurant, as one goes in the main entrance
I have printed off directions for you all, so no need to worry about where you are going, as the directions have the Postcode and route on them . If you have the “What3Words” App on your mobile phone, you will be able to enter the venue details into the APP and it will get you there if you get seperated.
For info, Terry and I attended, last weekend, the AC Workshop and AGM and before we started the workshop the outgoing Chairman (Martin Curtis) gave all AC’s present an update on Convoy Drives.and the upshot is, as follows;
Everyone is responsible for their own navigation and safety - this is paramount to any drive we do as a club!
We, or whoever is leading a drive, is to provide route directions, either Google Maps, or Tulip Diagrams, that have both the start and finish points in the directions, as well as the route being taken.
We all start the drive together but there is no need to follow in one big convoy all the way and rely on the car in front or behind, as this can make this dangerous to other road users when the convoy is large and is frowned upon by the Police and with a particualrly large convoy of 20 MX-5’s such as this particular drive, we must not be the wrong side of the law!
We will driving through some nice country roads and mainly B-Roads, so all should be good but please be mindful of the above and as long as we all arrive at the venue, all will be good with the world
We look forward to seeing you at the rendevous point at 09:30, as per the Calendar Post
Please Note: The Premier Inn situated next to the Breakfast Venue is having a major refurbishment. To this end, the car park has a lot of Potakabin and plant machinery near the Premier Inn side of the car park. We have been asked to park at the back of the car park on the right hand side and we will have to double park.
I will be there ahead of time to help you park up safely.
