Soul Red Crystal ND (19) and also SRC Mazda3 (19)

When I emerged with my shopping early this afternoon, there were these two beautifully immaculate cars next to mine, the Mazda3 having only just arrived.

I asked the Mazda3 owner about his car and it is top of the range with all the automatic bells and whistles, wonderful, but also including the electric parking brake and auto gearbox, not quite so wonderful.  He has taken it back to the dealers three times in as many weeks because it always starts off with a jerk as it drives against the electric parking brake and then that suddenly releases. His previous Mazda3 was the same as mine, and before that he had an NB, but was never a member of the club.

This was one of the few days I did not have phone/camera with me, the SRC colour was fantastic in the bright sunlight. It would have been a great picture.

A friend who’s wife works at a RangeRover dealer and advises it is not unusual for the cars to be returned to Solihull to have faults sorted as the local techs in a good few cases have to give in and say send it back to the specialists at the factory.

The instruction book they have to sort the cars does not cover all the faults that turn up.
