Suspension

Bought car, 12 plate 2.0 Ventura. Suspension has been lowered, too low i think, catching on speed bumps etc. nearly taking bottom out of car. How much approx to revert back to original ride height? Any recommendations who could do this work, Northwest Blackpool area?

Cheers.

There is a minor issue when putting back the front suspension as the final bolt tightening should only be tightend with the full load of the car on the suspension and the wheels on the ground or on say a 4 post lift to get that situation which most garages will not know about. Not rocket science. Even you tell them many garages will just say yes sir and not do that.

CBS in Nelson are say 50 miles from you, know their MX5’s but it is a bit of a pain to get there and back.

CBS Autos at Nelson should be able to sort you out. Replacement used original suspension units are available on ebay from about £150 for the 4. Be aware that parts may be slightly different for PRHT or soft top cars.

Price wise

Changing suspension units say £200

Buy stock length springs say £240 but there must be people including CBS that have standard springs that are up for grabs for say £50 all in.

At the rear these things could be changed as they can come apart around £15 each, Mazda parts number NE51-28-012C you need one for each side.

Suspension laser alignment say £120 if required.
