The 80s were the best decade ever

Nostalgia’s not what it used to be.

For me, the best is yet to come.

Nowadays you need a special licence to drive a forklift. But I still see drivers carrying full pallet loads driving forward instead of reverse, driving too fast round corners with no horn and leaving engine running when they exit the truck. Rant over!

When I passed my driving test, aged 17, I went home, had some lunch then rang the local ice cream company to see if they had any jobs. Within 48 hours I was driving a 3-ton ice cream van around. I could also jump on any 125cc motor bike with L-plates, like the Yamaha RD125 for example.

Not bad for a 17-y-o.

Perfectly illustrates the difference between youth in the 70s and youth today!

In those days, you could leave a job on a Friday and be working somewhere else on the following Monday.

I too left school at 15 in 1970, went straight into an apprenticeship, and i am still working two days a week at 70.

The 70s were the best years IMO. :100:

Excuse me for thinking this was a light-hearted thread.
Hopefully you’’ll move on to correcting bad spelling and poor syntax across the site next.

Not me, I’d be the last person on planet earth to be in any position to correct people’s spelling, grammar or similar
