A prawn that had unbeknown to me fallen out of a prawn sandwich and got lost under the seat. It was a new Porsche and it smelled like I’d pee’d myself which took some explaining to passengers until I found the offending crustacean.
Somewhat off topic, but I did hear of a chap who split up with his girlfriend and had to move out of their flat.
Before he went, he put some garlic prawns inside the curtain pole. It took her weeks to find the cause of the stink!

Come on guys! Would you buy your tyres from “Fit-Quick”???
Find yourself a decent INDEPENDENT optician/optometrist……most towns have them, and word-of-mouth recommendations will point out who is decent quality and fair price…….
Stay away from the “big battalions” - just like you would do with your cars’ needs.
We bought a bag of Haribo from motorway services on the way home from a fortnight in Cornwall last Friday night to help sustain us on the journey back to Nottingham.
Over the weekend the sweets we hadn’t eaten were left in the car had got quite hot and had joined together in one large multi-coloured lump. Still edible but some effort needed to separate each one!
I know it is a bit off topic, but it is probably best to also systematically use windshield shades during the summer.
Some of the damages is done by the heat but some of it is also due to UV rays. Reducing both types of damages even by just 5-10% adds up over time. Given how cheap decent windshield shades can be these days (~£10), it’s a no-brainer, especially if the car is normally parked outside. I personally keep a cheap foldable one in the car at all times in the summer.
I tried one like this but it was so badly made and oversized it went straight in the bin, several times.
A few years ago one of my friends in France had a folding card set (special offer from Promocash) for each of his cars that made them look like aquariums! But I could not find anything like them anywhere. Plenty now, but mostly too big for NC
Very off topic but topical (!). A similar, but made for the purpose silvered sheet is widely available to slide down behind radiators on any outside wall. It reflects heat back into the house instead of going through the wall.
Especially these days, it should pay for itself in very short order.
