I’ve just brought my first mx5 and I’ve already got a few questions LOL. How do you use the electric side mirrors? I can’t seem to figure it out, I’ve just driven it home at night so haven’t had much time to experiment LOL. Also how much does it cost for a front fog light and a car battery?

The control is to the left of the steering wheel.
There is a slider in the middle that goes from left to right, to select which mirror (to the left is the left one…)
The outer square rocks up/down and left/right, to move the mirror in the corresponding direction.

A Panasonic battery from Mazda is ~£90-100 these days. A Westco alternative from MX5parts is £70. Note, you really need to fit a AGM battery to the MX5, as it is located in the boot. Normal venting-type wet acid batteries may cause localised corrosion.
If you bought the car from a dealer, I would be asking them to replace the battery, thats assuming the battery is for your car

Probably not, the batteries are specific to the MX5, and uses different technology to standard batteries - keep this in mind when charging them as well - a normal charger will not work properly.
The one at MX5 parts posted above has a good repuation, and will be replacing my one when the time comse.
Trickle chargers work fine with the AGM battery. You can jump start a AGM battery, but it is best to put it on a trickle charge later.
If getting the dealer to oput in a new battery; agree the model before. I have seen dealers just shove in any old battery; in one case, they didn’t bother with a battery tray, and just used zip ties to hold it in place. Predictably, the wet cell battery shifted, cracked, and stripped the paint off the boot floor and wrecked the carpet.
Original Panasonics can last well over 10 years,and are well worth the expense. A few variable reports about the Westcos.

I went into halfords today after work and my battery was tested, it appears to be 84% so i guess its alright. It does worry me though as it sounds like it may not start as it doesnt appear to start striaght away.So i may have to buy a new battery. Also does anyone know what bulb i will need for the front fog light??
As its the mark 2 MX5 Sport i think it may need a different bulb for the fog light than other mx5’s?

I didnt know the MX-5 wouldnt take any old battery.LOL, I had the battery tested at Halfords and it is 84% so i guess i may need a new battery as it doesnt always seem like it will start when i start it up.Maybe its the cold weather though im not sure.
Also does anyone know what bulb i would need to buy for the front fog light? Im not sure what one i have to buy.

Nice car by the way… enjoy. I think the fog light bulb is usually a H1, they always have been on my past 4 cars. I’ve got an MX5parts Battery and it spins my engine over so much faster than the knackered one I took off.
Enjoy the car, should be a nice cold clear day tomorrow, I for one will have the roof down and hat on tomorrow 
I will try and get the fog light bulb tomoro.I also wanted to ask: i didnt get a key fob(the thing that sets the imboliser to go off) and wanted to know whether you do get one with the MX5 mark2 as all i have is 2 sets of keys for the car and open the car with the key and not the fob.So is this normal and if not where can i get the fob from?

Just to keep you all updated, i brought a new front fog light bulb today and managed to fit it. I also tried to put in my headunit but i could power it but i could get any sound out the speakers why is this?is it somone to do with the speakers being BOSE?
I did buy a halfords mazda car audio connector, but i not sure whether i need it or not. It did work with the mx5 connectors. can anyone shed anylight on this for me please?
