Just about to attempt to change the timing belt on a MK 2 1.8 - do I need to remove the bit on the back of the engine which I assume is the Cam Angle Sensor?
Any other advice would be appreicated.[:D]

No cam angle sensor on the back of the engine on a MK2. Do you have a photo of the part you are refering to? do you mean the coil packs? If so you can just undo the 2 12mm head bolts that secure it to the cam cover.
Thanks for the reply - I did mean the coil pack. At least that bit is easier but dreading the 21 mm bolt game. I did this job on a MK 1 some time ago but perhaps you can also answer this - does the pulley on the front of the crankshaft which is held on by four bolts come off separately from the 21 mmi bolt i.e. does the 21 mm bolt hold the pulley on as well?
Thanks again for your help.
Leave the 4 10mm bolts, just undo the 21mm. Unless you want to remove the pulley separately to get better access to the 21mm.
I expect that I will need to remove the pulley to either get better access for a socket or to use one of the fancy devices that seem to help to hold the crankshaft steady. Although I seem to remember that when I did the MK 1 you advised me to get somebody to sit in the car and hold the foot brake down.
Thanks for your help.
