Touch Screen Whilst On The Move

Hi there all :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Has anyone successfully made the touch screen respond whilst they are moving ?

Yes, I followed this video

and these instructions - worked perfectly first time

Does it work with Android Auto ?

I confess I’ve never tried. I must admit that when the car is moving, I’m concentrating on that thing called driving, not whether if I can simultaneously work a touchscreen at the same time.

It works on everything as it would in most modern cars with touchscreens. It isn’t app specific so you can choose to use the controller or the screen

I did it last week easy enough following the instructions and it worked 1st time :+1:t3:

EDIT: tested the other day running Android Auto on the move, and unfortunately touch didn’t work while in there, which is a bit of shame. More likely down to AA integration with the system and the screen design, than anything being directly blocked or disabled :slightly_frowning_face:

I followed the instructions at @Wardy5’s link ages ago and it works perfectly on my ND2 running the latest v74 firmware.

Anyone had any joy using the mp3 exploit to get the old mods running like the speedo app?

I did this change 3 months ago.
But I have to confess, I still use the dials by the handbreak. Maybe I just got used to them.

It’s more using Waze on android auto really … to acknowledge police ahead or objects in the road

Ckyliu,

Have a few tweaks installed on both my 6 and mx5 with the latest v74 firmware.

Done through the mp3 method.

No issues so far all went smooth.

Don’t think touch with android auto is supported by mazda connect.

There is a thread on it at mazda3 forum

The touch screen doesn’t work with Android Auto

The tweak only disables speed limitation so if AA doesn’t work when not moving, this tweak won’t make it work when moving - hope that makes sense.

I am trying this but after selecting the USB drive with the correct files on - I do NOT see the ā€œopen terminalā€ screen.

I’m having trouble getting to that point too. Seems Android Auto doesn’t use the touch screen so gave up. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Mazda deliberately disable touch screen while moving for safety reasons. Why would you want to make your car less safe?

I am no expert and have only done this once but I think this stage was where I had a problem.
The issue for me was that I had some files in a folder on the usb stick.
Once I moved the files out of the folder, it worked straightaway.
The touchscreen now works on the move but as I wanted it for AA, not a lot of point in the end!

I had the same. Tried using another USB stick, and it worked.
