Saw the first MK1 in North Shields at around 8pm on Thursday night. Couldn’t tell what colour it was but gave them a wave and a toot as they waited behind me at a set of traffic lights.
Saw the second MK1 when driving home on Friday morning. It was approaching Scotswood Bridge in Newcastle. The guy driving it was unresponsive to my wild gesticulating and gurning. He was also driving a black MK1 and had a lovely set of gold BBS’s.
I look forward to the day I get some form of response from a fellow MX5er because so far I’ve had nothing but blank stares from all MK1 and MK3 drivers I’ve encountered. Thank god for that lone MK2 lady who very kindly responded to my headlight wave with a stern middle finger!
Don’t worry, mate. If I see you in time then I’ll wave like a maniac too
