I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: sourcing fasteners
Has anyone found a source of decent and cheap fasteners for the various undertaken trim on the mk3? I have seen packs of ten screws for £10, that sort of thing, but looking for a box of a 100 various sizes for that sort of money. I know I am Scottish, but £1 for a self tapper? Jings!
I have a few of the 8mm and 10mm head ones missing.
Yes UnderTRAY, I swear the autocorrect on this Samsung tablet means I cannot type a single sentence without having to recheck it. I have another thread somewhere that talks about Kong (Koni) suspension!
Thanks for the links, looks like a 100 pack of the hex head is what I am looking for. “Self Tapping Screws 8 x 3/4 Hex-head BZP”. BUT I am not sure on the size. Is 8, 8 mm head, M8 thread, 8 gauge ? Presume 3/4 is .75 inches long. Does anyone know what size I need - the 8mm hex with Philips centre screws that go across the front of the undertray and in other places. What gauge are they?
There is a combi pack “Assorted Acme Screws (hex head) (400)” at £25 which hopefully should cover the bases, but that contains about 395 more than I need, and is about £15 more than I was hoping to pay.
I found Swiftkey learns uncannily well in predicting what I’m going to write. It forced me to expand my vocab and subject range when on ski trips to prevent boring repetition on the texts and emails back home to SWMBO. (We all use it on assorted Samsung android devices.) If you tell it a new word three times it remembers and doesn’t pester you, unlike the arrogant and useless Samsung native autocorrect. Swiftkey also has lots of different keyboard themes as well, for style, or readability or whatever.
Unfortunately the firm that produced Swiftkey has been bought by M$ so I guess it will become less helpful as they dig their clammy paws into it. I know one of the original developers very well; after the M$ grab he left as soon as he could without penalty.
Suggest you look at a supplier in Hove called Namrick. They supplier individual items as well as per packet. Just Google it . Website is very good to use
