Not sure if this is the right place to post this question? However, I have been looking at MX5’s on Autotrader and Ebay and quite a few (I think mainly Eunos’s) seem to have their steering wheels put on upside down!
Is there a reason for this?? I can’t fathom that out! The thing is, it looks awful and it also obscures the view of the instruments in the dash!
Can anyone explain this? Please! It’s starting to drive me nuts!![8o|]
One of my friends seems to keep ending up with cars where the steering wheel’s out by maybe 10-15 degrees… The cars drive OK, not pulling either way, but the wheel’s not straight when the car is! Granted, his current car’s a Renault and the last one was a Fiat…
I’ve never seen one on actually upside down, although I did test drive a mk1 last year that had a rather small steering wheel. Felt weird:
Is there a reason for that, that anyone’s aware of? It didn’t have power steering, so the extra leverage with a full size wheel could’ve been useful!
I can leave mine in any position, you need to see the pics with the wheel and the front wheels in the same shot to know if they are relate to the ‘straight ahead’ position.
All sorts of steering errors can result in an up to 15 deg error and certainly any ‘non airbag’ wheels can be installed at any angle, but don’t know why anyone would.
